As a parent, you can sense when something isn’t right with your child.

Maybe your child:

  • Can't focus in school despite being bright and capable

  • Struggles with anxiety, meltdowns, or sensory sensitivities

  • Deals with chronic stomach pain, constipation, or picky eating

  • Gets sick constantly—ear infections, colds, allergies

  • Has eczema, rashes, or skin issues that won't resolve

  • Has been offered medication but you want to explore root causes first

You've been to multiple providers and countless appointments. You've been told "it's just a phase" or "here's a prescription." But deep down, you know there's more to the story.

You're right.

The Root Cause Kids Approach

We don't just treat symptoms—we investigate WHY your child is struggling.

  • Gut health (the foundation of immune function, mood, and behavior)
  • Nutrition (are hidden food sensitivities or deficiencies at play?)
  • Environmental factors (toxins, stress, sleep quality)
  • Genetics and biochemistry (MTHFR, methylation, nutrient processing)
  • Nervous system regulation (how trauma or stress impacts the body)

Using functional medicine principles, we look at:

  • Targeted nutrition changes
  • Quality supplements (only what's necessary)
  • Lifestyle modifications
  • Gentle detoxification strategies
  • Parent coaching and education

Your Questions, Answered

  • The Root Cause Kids program is a comprehensive functional medicine service, which is typically not covered by insurance. However, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for potential reimbursement. Any labs or imaging we order may be covered by your insurance.

  • Yes. If medication is truly necessary, we'll discuss it. However, our goal is to address root causes, which may make prescription medication less necessary or require adjustments in prescription medications. We will work with you and your prescribing provider when necessary. We do not initiate new prescriptions for controlled ADHD medications.

  • Pediatricians and primary care providers focus on acute illness and well-child visits, which are important! Our program goes deeper, spending significantly more time investigating chronic issues and creating personalized healing plans. We work alongside your pediatrician and primary care provider, not instead of them.

  • We get it! We work with families on realistic, gradual changes. No perfection required. Just commitment to trying.

  • Not at all. While our practice is faith-based, we welcome families of all backgrounds. Faith integration is always optional and never forced.
